RHS students Hayden Fane, Riley Slowensky, and Emma Taylor have been working hard on their National Honors Society project and formed a committee that engaged the entire school called “Letters to Veterans”. The trio chose to partner with the not-for-profit group Honor Flight, which provides trips for veterans to view the memorials in Washington D.C. Veterans are then provided with letters of gratitude from different service organizations and schools. “We made a video to share with our classmates so they understand what Honor Flight is,” Slowensky explained. Students were then asked to use some of their Pride Time to contribute to the efforts. “I think it was definitely successful,” said Fane. “We got a lot of letters. A lot more than we expected.” The group received nearly 500 letters, cards, and drawings from their classmates for veterans in response. RHS Mathematics Teacher and National Honor Society Sponsor, Mrs. Cara Hanlin, said there have been many great NHS projects this year, some are complete and some are still underway.

Excellent work, students!
