We know many of you are ready to return to full-time, seated learning, and we are eager to do the same. During these first two weeks of the second semester, we have been working with the Phelps/Maries Health Department to monitor community and district conditions regarding Covid-19 cases and the plans for bringing RHS students back to full-time, seated learning. Unfortunately, there has been a significant increase in positive cases within our student population at the high school. We have determined our case numbers to be too high to bring back all students to 5-day seated classes at this time, but that is certainly still the goal. Close evaluation of these conditions will be an important part of our planning process as we move forward, and our administrative teams will be discussing plans continually. We plan to provide a week’s notice prior to the full-time return in order to allow everyone time to prepare.

Please visit the COVID information page on our website to view a weekly report of positive cases, both district-wide and within each building. We will continue to work in conjunction with local health officials to determine when it is safe for students to return to a regular, 5-day seated schedule. Please continue to do your part in slowing the spread of the virus by wearing masks, avoiding large gatherings, and practicing hand hygiene. It will take all of us working together to make an impact and safely move the needle closer to “normal” for our staff and students at RHS.

Mr. Craig Hounsom, Superintendent
Dr. Jim Pritchett, RHS Principal
