3.19.2025 Closure Update

Posted Date: 3/21/25 (5:58 PM)

Dear Rolla 31 Families,

The incredible amount of work that has taken place throughout the district this week is nothing short of miraculous. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for all the time, sweat (and maybe a few tears), services, and resources you’ve shared with us the past few days. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Our staff and students have been the embodiment of our word of the year: COMMITMENT. Commitment to our district, to our students, and to one another. Their dedication and resilience have been nothing short of inspiring during this challenging time.

Here’s an update from the week and a few things to know as we move into the next.

- All classrooms impacted by storm damage have been packed and moved to their new locations. Again, thank you to all who contributed to this monumental effort.
- While there is still some work to do, most of the outdoor cleanup is complete. Our staff, along with countless community organizations and student groups, did an amazing job.
- We will communicate directly with families who have students impacted by location or classroom changes next week.
- We are continuing to work out details for food service and transportation and will also share those with you next week.
- We will host open house events for Wyman, Middle School, and Mark Twain. We will share dates and times with you once plans are finalized. These events will likely be held during the week that we return to school.

We continue to navigate the impacts of this significant event. Our insurance company has assigned a mitigation team that is onsite to address moisture, air quality, and other immediate concerns. Our top priority remains the safety of all of our staff and students. We are committed to ensuring that our buildings are safe and ready before students return.

We are still receiving offers for donations for classroom supplies. We appreciate your generosity, but ask that you pause those efforts for now. Teachers are still figuring out what they need, and we have limited ability to store donated supplies at this time. If you’d like to make a monetary contribution through CORE and designate it to teachers’ classroom supplies, we will ensure those funds are allocated directly to them. Checks can be made out to CORE and delivered to our administrative office or donations can be made online on our website at https://rolla31.org/core (type “teacher classroom supply fund” in the payment comments).

Thank you for your continued support and understanding,

Dr. Kyle Dare
Rolla 31 Superintendent
